En el Colegio de Médicos de Valencia, los días 15 y 16 de septiembre de 2023, tuve el privilegio de participar como ponente en varias sesiones sobre una prueba diagnóstica que, cada día, tiene más valor y mas utilidad en Cardiología: las Pruebas de Esfuerzo con Consumo de Oxígeno, también conocidas como ERGOESPIROMETRÍAS o CPET (del inglés, CardioPulmonary Exercise Test).
El viernes 15 de septiembre, colaboré en los «Casos en vivo (sujeto sano)», junto a mis compañeros y amigos los Dres. Íñigo San Millán y Alejandro Berenguel. Un deportista realizó en directo una ergoespirometría y con ello pudimos explicar con detalle todos los aspectos que implica esta prueba.
Al día siguiente, participé como ponente en la Mesa-Simposio sobre deporte, que fue moderada por el Dr. Jose Abellán. En concreto expliqué las «Claves en la interpretación de las ergoespirometrías en atletas, lo que debemos saber». Posteriormente, el Dr. David Domínguez explicó el «Uso de la ergoespirometría como herramienta para optimización del rendimiento deportivo».
